The Yak Ales Barbecue Festival Welcome Dinner and Cooking Classes Announced for Melbourne and Central Coast

Thursday 21st December /

21 December, 2017 – The Yak Ales Barbecue Festival will return to Melbourne for its fourth year this summer and make its debut on the NSW Central Coast. Adding to the already-announced Festival program, a number of exclusive dinners, masterclasses and KCBS BBQ judging courses will go on sale today at 12noon through Ticketek, via www.bbqfest.com.au

Headlining the 2018 Yak Ales BBQ festivals and hosting the barbecue-cooking classes is four-time world barbeque champion, TV star and New York Times bestselling author, Myron Mixon. In his four-hour classes, students will have the chance to learn award-winning barbecue skills from the Winningest Man in BBQ himself, including how to cook Myron’s signature chicken and pork ribs.

The KCBS certified barbecue-judging classes allow students to become an accredited KCBS certified Barbecue Judge, meaning successful graduates will be eligible to judge any international BBQ competition sanctioned by the KCBS. The four-hour tasting and theoretical class will see students learn the finer points of what to look for in award-winning competition-style barbeque.

The Festivals’ welcome dinners, held at Bluebonnet Barbecue in Melbourne and Central Coast Leagues Club in Gosford, will see an international star-studded line up join guests to kick-off two days of mouth-watering barbecue. Myron Mixon will be joined by three-time world barbecue champion John David Wheeler of Memphis Barbecue Company, as well as Mike Johnson and Christina Fitzgerald of Sugarfire Smoke House, St Louis.

The dinner and cooking-classes will feature exclusive interview opportunities with Myron Mixon, as well as photo opportunities and a book signing.

Tickets to the welcome dinner and classes are the ideal last-minute Christmas gift for barbecue lovers and foodies. All classes sold out in 2017 and places are limited!
